CHP Officers were investigating a deadly car crash on Highway 78 in Vista, California near Sycamore Avenue. It is reported that a 2009 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck traveling east on the westbound side of 78 collided head-on with a Toyota Matrix hatchback. A 24-year-old Vista woman who has yet to be identified, died from her injuries in the collision according to authorities. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was a 36-year-old Carlsbad man and is reported to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. His identity is currently not available.
